The Hindenburg Zeppelin (LZ-129) pictured soaring over the sky scrapers of Manhattan. A gap in the cloudy sky illuminates the spire of the Empire State Building, whose tower was originally conceived as a dirigible docking mast! This idea was eventually abandoned, however, when the winds proved too unpredictable at 1350 above the city. The Hindenburg's illustrious career was terminated on May 6, 1937 when she burst into flames upon landing in Lakehurst, New York. This is the extremely rare English language variation (the poster is also known to exist in German and Italian).
